Review - The Bobbi Brown Luxe Lipsticks .... worth the price ??

If you've checked these out lately, you're probably thinking like me....why would I pay a Tom Ford price for this, even if it's double the quantity, just why ?? Yes, I got one of both but wait, I found a discount and couldn't resist :p But I hope to save your bucks and decide which is the best bang for buck product here ? Or if not, put it in an FD ladies...but now, more on Bobbi brown luxe lip

So, since most of us have just one to spare on and we hope not to go broke, we must breathe, read on and decide. Quality over quantity peeps .... oh but we're lipstick hoarders too ... so we carefully purchase before we flaunt. Money and lips are just as important ain't they ?

Tried 'Pink Guava' from Nykaa (last few pieces on sale)
I only dabbed the colour, since it was very bright and I like to wear bright shades as stains instead. You can check links to Temptalia to see more intense swatches

Do You Need It ??

Costs approx. (INR 3300 to 3600) (USD $38)

Firstlt, budget your beauty expense over a month/year and restrain from overspending. Let's be honest, a lipstick will not pay your bills even if it were made of Gold (!?)....Mindful spending will help you enjoy a satisfied beauty experience. Now, coming to who can get it

I think if you are a huge fan of 'Coral shades', love rich pigments oozing, do not have very dry lips, love spring summer looks, enjoy luxury packaging and have some money to splurge, you could get this. If there's only 1 luxury buy you would ask me, I would say hands down, take a Estee Lauder Envy Sculpting lipstick (INR 2500-2800). Pigmentation is lower in some shades but the bright shades have high pigmentation and the finish is to die for (Tom Ford dupe), plus it nourishes your lip. Bobbi brown luxe lip colours have high pigmentation and the reds have great velvet like finish but they fail to impress me in moisture. I have very sensitive skin and anything that agitates me even a little bit will not be a recommendation. Every lipstick till date has given me a slight irritate after around 3hours but not the Estee one I mentioned. So, if you really want a luxury buy, I would suggest that if you have dry lips. But that has lower pigments to Bobbi brown luxe colours. If you do not suffer from sensitive or dry lips, these luxe colours are great to try, specially the shade range, it has a nude for everyone, a coral for the most hard to get colours from top brands like Tom Ford and Chanel and some new, a red for everyone and an orange for all (Bobbi Brown nails oranges).

Conclusion
 - get this for the shade if you like rich pigments, long stay, luxury packages. It is not a balmy moisturizing kind
 - get estee lauder envy sculpting lipstick if you like moderate to high pigments with great moisturizing capabilities. Link here

If you really want to splurge, I found this great Bobbi brown luxe lip classic set here. It is some price but if you've wanted to own here iconic shades, this one has minis all 10 at half the price.

Flattering Shades For Your Skin Tone (I Think)

Sometimes when we're buying online, we don't exactly get to see the shade on us, that's when swatches, reviews and recommendations help. I'm trying to help too but I suggest always be sure to check atleast 1 swatch before you spend. It is best to visit the store and decide though

Flattering shades for very fair skin (below NC 30)

Possible Dupe

Bobbi Brown Luxe Lips are still cheaper if you conisder per gram cost. These come at INR 3600 for 3.8gms vs Tom Ford INR 4000 for 3gms. So, you may want these as dupes

• Bond seems like a dupe to 'Bond Girl' by Charlotte Tilbury with less red
• Hot Rose is often mentioned as a dupe to Charlotte Tilbury 'Miranda May' and Tom Ford 'Perfect Kiss'
• Parisian Red is an all skintone flattering red which can be a close dupe to Tom Ford's uber popular 'Scarlet Rouge'

I suggest luxury dupes over drug store ones simply because of the texture, feel on lips. Shade matches are sometimes available on drug store but the finish doesn't match. So it really isn't a dupe I consider worthy. A real dupe should match the finish and that is one of the secrets to beautiful lipsticks
